Daughters of Elvin

I first saw the awe inspiring performances of Daughters of Elvin in a theatre on the outskirts of London five years ago. It left me spellbound and with a sense of pure wonder that it has stayed in my memory ever since. I am absolutely delighted to be bringing these hugely talented musicians and dancers to Dartmouth. Their performances are so beautiful and unique that to explain them in mere words simply does not do them justice! They are utterly magical, seeming to have stepped straight from the pages of faerietales of Elves, or medieval courtly romances! Absolutely stunning costumed and masqued dancers complete the ensemble… in an utterly breathtaking display of pure inspiration that transport the audience to another realm!!!        www.myspace.com/daughtersofelvin

Beck Sian

The beautiful and haunting voice of Beck Sian lulls the listener to another place… a wild forgotten realm inhabited by Faeries and Spirits, where raindrops fall upon tangled ferns and ivy…. where hidden things dwell! To listen to her songs is like taking a stroll through a secret garden… or the Haunted Forest. Using lyrics composed by herself, and creating performances using the poems of Tennyson she has a truly unique style that never fails to inspire those who feel tempted to enter her world!

Elizabeth-Jane Baldry

Dartmoor-based concert harpist Elizabeth-Jane Baldry is best known for her research into Victorian Fairy Harp Music, her CD of which has received world-wide distribution. She is the only silent movie harpist in the world, performing live harp accompaniment to cinema screenings. Her compositions have been used by ITV, the BBC and by Irish, Japanese, Swedish and Canadian film, radio and television. In 2007 she gave sold-out performances in the US where she premiered her setting for harp and spoken voice of Christina Rossetti's "Goblin Market." She also makes films of British fairytales.

Elizabeth–Jane creates utterly beautiful performances filled with ethereal joy and blissful Faerie magic, her music taking the listener on a magic carpet ride across time and to the Otherworldly realms, to a place where Faerie palaces are filled with the entrancing sound of the harp’s notes and melodies. To hear and watch Elizabeth-Jane perform is to feel the realm of Faerie and all its strange and beautiful creatures close by…. Truly an artiste  the blessed by the Faeries!  K

ELFIC THE JESTER

Shows of circus skills, madcap comedy and wicked one-liners, with audience participation, improvisation, mayhem and a little danger!

Elfic combines elements of street entertainment and circus to create high energy, fast paced, award-winning entertainment. Audiences go on a roller coaster ride of fun and laughter, amazement and bewilderment. Is he an inept, bungling buffoon or a highly skilled, talented professional? Having performed since 1989, Elfic has a wealth of experience to produce a very polished act; however it always remains fresh and exciting. Suitable for all the family, his humour and tricks cross the boundary between children and adults. “To call Elfic a childrens’ entertainer would be to do him a huge disservice because it’s not just the kids faces that light up when he starts to do his thing”. Elfic dresses as either a medieval jester or in classic street entertainer mode, with pin-stripe suit and bowler hat.
