JULIEN HATSWELL
Following a spell as a freelance prototype sculptor for a London toy design company in the early 1990's, I set up Baroque Designs in 1995, developing and manufacturing a range of 'metal-resin cast' home giftware with Art Nouveau/Deco/Gothic inspired styles. Over the last 6 years, it has evolved into a range of over 30 unusual 'Warped' Timepieces with new designs added annually.
Alongside my sculpture range I have painted surreal and fantasy subjects for over 20 years. Many of my themes lay in the arena of symbolism, much of my inspiration flowing from the Pre-raphaelites, Atkinson Grimshaw, 20th Century visionaries such as Beksinski, Dali and science fiction/horror genres.
