SILVERWOOD – Ian M Southwood

Firstly, I hold my hands up; my trees are neither made of silver, nor wood! They are however made entirely from recycled (salvaged) material.

Despite my love of climbing and drawing trees, I cannot take the credit for my trees’ basic design. That I only got from watching an “And Finally…” story on the local news, about some old chap making these miniature trees from re-cycled washing machine wire.

That was back in 1980 and my early attempts still haunt my family’s shelves. However, since then I believe I have refined them into what you see today.

I am an electronics engineer by trade; so I like nothing better than packing off to the woods in my spare time to “Get away from it all”, leaving all modern life at home and living off what the woods provide.

Try it yourself sometime and appreciate the trees we have about us!
