Art has always been an important aspect of my life and like many artists I have been drawing since I held my first crayon! I was born in 1980 in Essex, England and spent most of my childhood reading, drawing and daydreaming. Nothing much has changed since!
My passion for fantasy began with all the fairy tales I read as a child and developed into an interest in folklore and mythology. This is a strong influence in my work today along with my love of nature. The faeries and figures in my paintings are often representations of the wild beauty and magic of the natural world.
I am mostly a self-taught artist with a qualification in Graphic Design although I chose not to pursue that path. Fantasy and faery art remained a strong interest and after creating a number of watercolour paintings, including 'faery portraits' of friends, I decided to show case my work online.
I created my first website in 2006 offering prints for sale and have continued developing my work since then. My favourite medium is watercolours however, I have also used acrylics and colour pencils and love to explore new ideas and techniques. As well as painting, I enjoy many other creative ventures such as photography, sculpting, jewellery and costume making (faery wings!).
I currently work from my home studio in Essex where I live with my partner Martin. So far my work has been featured in FAE magazine, The Magical Times magazine, used for business logos, a music album, event flyers and also on various websites around the internet. I have also exhibited at some festivals which I have really enjoyed as it enables me to connect with other artists and fans. That is the true magic of creating art....the joy and inspiration I hope to give people through my work.
